What is the Trop Republic Parrot Head Club?
Good question! On November 20, 2020, in the midst of a global pandemic, the Trop Republic Parrot Head Club was recognized by Parrot Heads In Paradise, Inc (PHiP, the head honchos!) as an official club. What does this mean? It means that central and western MA now have a club to call their own. Western MA has has a club in the past, but this is new for central.
And what exactly is a Parrot Head Club?
According to PHiP :
“The organization will engage in activities that are charitable, educational and that promote the general welfare of the community. Parrot Heads in Paradise, Inc. is a Not-For-Profit Corporation, whose purpose is to assist in community and environmental concerns and provide a variety of social activities for people who are interested in the music of Jimmy Buffett and the tropical lifestyle he personifies.”
It all starts with the man himself, Jimmy Buffett! Have a listen, hear his stories, his words… not only about escapism but of living life to the fullest. Each club brings it’s own spin on what the above means to them. But the basics are the same – we love Jimmy, we love to help others and we have a good time doing it!
Our goal for the Trop Republic Parrot Head club is to bring like minded people together for fun events, gatherings, charity work and more! We will be working hard to bring more Trop Rock artists to the area and introduce you to those that are here!
Want to join us? Great! Fill out the club application in membership and pay your dues! Then welcome aboard!
Not that long ago and not that far away on a tropical island known as FoKem there was a small group of islanders who inhabited the western part of the island. They were becoming restless and were not happy with the newly elevated chief who resided in the east. These misfits had heard of an island to the west called Matagnot. The inhabitants of this island were free and fun loving and were all about living the island way!
These intrepid islanders decided to make a move and gathered items from all around their village to lash together a raft and ride the trade winds west towards Matagnot. They left FoKem behind them with no hard feelings and a welcomed parting of the ways.
Bright one morning, they shoved their raft off the shore and rode the currents westward. They landed in Matagnot and were welcomed with open arms! They quickly helped the natives of Matagnot form a new society called the Trop Republic!
